Plantar Fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. It occurs when the long, flat ligament on the bottom of the foot (plantar fascia) stretches irregularly and develops small tears that cause the ligament to become inflamed. Plantar fasciitis is a common problem among middle-aged adults and some athletes. It more often occurs in women.

The classic symptom of Plantar Fasciitis is heel pain when taking the first steps after getting out of bed or after sitting for a long period of time. There may be stiffness and pain in the morning or after resting that lessens after a few steps but may get worse as the day progresses. Pain worsens when climbing stairs or standing on the toes. Pain becomes noticeable after long periods of standing. Pain at the beginning of exercise goes away as exercise continues but returns when exercise is completed. The most severe cases of the condition make you feel like you are walking on glass or pins.

Sufferers of Plantar Fasciitis often develop painful Heel Spur Syndrome. A heel spur is a piece of calcium or bone that sticks out from the bottom of the heel bone, and lies within the fibers of the plantar fascia. When walking, the spur digs into the plantar fascia and causes small micro-tears in the plantar fascia. This produces inflammation and pain in the heel, which at times may radiate into the arch. With some, a bone spur is not present, but the micro-tears cause the heel pain. When walking in Orthotebb Health Shoes, you place only a fraction of the pressure you normally would on your heels, as the heel is not used. In and of itself, this offers many users relief.

In use, the Orthotebbs' orthopedic shape cause you to build your own arch. People with Flat Feet or Fallen Arches benefit. Orthotics are not necessary for wear with Orthotebbs, as the shoes do that work for you.

Orthotebb Health Shoes naturally stretch the base of the foot as you walk. This duplicates the exercise most often prescribed for sufferers of Plantar Fasciitis; holding a towel in both hands, draping and pulling upwards under the ball of the foot. The stretching action on the sole of the foot and back of the Achilles (and Plantar Fascia) while at rest and muscles built in the ankles and legs aid in alleviating the pain caused by the condition. At rest, the feet are put into an inclined position, duplicating the effects of an Incline Board. After a few weeks of repeated use, most people with Plantar Fasciitis say the pain is decreased significantly. With some, it is immediate.

...They are wonderful and I have been wearing them almost non-stop since I purchased them. As I mentioned in our conversation, my plantar fasciitis is much better even when I just slip them on. As a nurse, I foresee the huge benefits that people can easily attain just by wearing these shoes.

Lori R., MS, RN, CA

They are really comfortable and I think will help the plantar fasciitis. I am finding that my foot is a lot more comfortable when I am sitting and doing computer or other work and have the clogs on as they keep my foot in a more comfortable position. Thank you for your great service.
